The other day Moscow Absolute Soul Group Shoo celebrated its ninth birthday. For yourself and fans, musicians on the occasion of the holiday presented a new album "endless", full of experiments, fresh finds and souls of each participant of the team. Especially for the Womanhit vocalist and the founder of the group - Shunov Meshcheryakov - told about the new work, creative searches and its new social status "married".
Last in the summer you, as they say, created the cell of society - married the musician of the SHOO group Maxim Meshcheryakov. What has changed in your relationship after the appearance of a stamp in a passport?
We and Max together for a long time, and for me he is the closest person. Much we went together, and of course, after the wedding, no longer has changed, and even more so for the worse, because we have already seen each other in a wide variety of situations. Is that ... during the preparation of the wedding and after it - everything seemed to be a little updated, it began with a new force. So - everything is super!
Did he surprise you with a proposal or the decision to get married was taken as of granted?
I am not from those girls who dream of getting married at all costs. Not because it did not want it. It was not that it was not an urgent purpose for me, which would catch consciousness. Therefore, I did not think more precisely - I did not make sure that it would happen.
The offer Max made very cool - at the rehearsal to our "love song" when I did not guess that it could happen. It was cool. I was very surprised and glad.
Tell me how the celebration passed - was very worried, did everything happen as you dreamed?
Everything went wonderful - in the circle of friends and our big family, since I dreamed, yes. Worried strongly, of course, the event is responsible, but it was a pleasant excitement. No disturbing reflection.
Your group has recently released a new long-awaited album "endless." Tell me more about this work.
First of all, I want to say that this is the second full-size album in the history of the group. For us, this is an important and solid work, in which we tried to put everything that have been accumulated at the moment. We did not have the goal to make it Khaipov, we wanted it to be "my own" and very honest. I hope it is felt when listening. In the album 13 tracks, two of which are "quietly" (intro) and "like a bird" (outro) - musical sketches with whatsapp audio messages imposed on them, as a "making of" or "film about the film". It was important for me to show that this album is the fruit of the work of the whole team, a huge number of no-indifferent people. We tried to "let go" in this record all the finished and meaningful songs that were in the group arsenal.
From new tracks on the album you can hear a "ring", "limitless", "waves". We also recorded the rethinkable version of the song "Paran", "Lavaed Day", "there for the sea" and other ever previously not released our compositions.
In general, the album is "limitless" - about finding the real itself, about the exit from the comfort zone and about the world.
How did Shoo changed from the debut "Absolute Soul" to "limitless"?
Changed as much as possible as possible. From Jazz and Future Sound, we moved towards pop and soul music. Began to use another arsenal tools, more copyright texts and no half-term - did the way. The new plate has drive electronic compositions, and lyrical ballads, and Absolute Soul has been a calm acoustic album with a warm jazz sound.
Are your compositions - is it collective creativity or exceptionally yours?
I am writing, as a rule, melody and text, I bring a common idea how to solve the song, style, and with the guys on rehearsals we think over all the subtleties of the arrangement. Everyone brings something to him, it is important to trust. By the poet, our songs are more collective creativity.
Songs are always autobiographical stories or are there among them and fantasy on the topic?
I have a very well developed emotional fantasy (so I call it), I am very inclined to dramatize and bring the emotion or some kind of an image that came in one or another to a high degree. Hence the plots of some songs.
How most often songs are born? Do you know the concept of "creative crisis"? How do you fight with apathy?
Creative crisis is very familiar, of course. It is a feeling that you miss life, inactive. Empty and at the same time a heavy item. A terrible "stuffy" feeling.
Apathy is, by the way, a very cool state for writing songs. Like very poor moral well-being. Much more detail for creative performance absolute happiness. But then nothing is written at all and no topics.
Songs are born in very different states and locations. For me, some kind of secluded place, for example, a night crossing by bus, or, when I wash in the shower, or when somewhere in the hotel far from the house on the tour I fall asleep.
Previously, you almost always performed in Chalme, and in recent times everything is less likely. What is it connected with?
Yes, now I do not spend at all in Chalme. Previously, it was my style - Chalma, Turban, such hypeRs. Then, after a trip to Mexico, I really liked Mexican braids and in general such an image. And style in clothes - both I have and the whole group - changed to a more concise and geometric. We fell in love with simple colors and monochrome. Such a simple style is very expensive and cool looks with ethnic accessories, it is much more truthful and naturally than the artificially created Total Bocho Luke.
And in general, I caught myself on such a thought: if your style more often requires you to "not wear" and "not to lay", for example, the hair is like just because it is "not in your style", it means , Style is time to change.
Someone helps you in creating a scenic and everyday image in clothes?
No, I always keep the selection of clothes, well, perhaps, only on rare photo sessions and video shooting, I resort to the help of a stylist. In general, almost always dress in my own taste.
In your texts, you often add to the family and home. Parents have always been "for" your passion for music? They are more praised or criticized?
My parents are incredibly wise and sensitive people, they always and supported and support me. This is great value and good luck for any creative person. Nevertheless, always when there is something to point out the disadvantages, they do that it helps a lot in development. The most important thing is that they believe in what I do and are ready to always help in achieving the goal.
Share plans for the next year, what are you waiting for yourself for yourself and for the SHOO group in 2020?
About personal - this is, of course, work on productivity, work with its shortcomings and fears, and in the group - we have already planned several releases before the new year, for example, a duet with "Tomorrow May" on the song "needle", which we spamrew on Concert presentations of the record "Unlimited" in Moscow. People very warmly accepted the song and immediately after the concert, we began to receive invitations to make this composition. Therefore, we decided not to slow down with the record. Well, without a New Year's gift will not cost!
