Once Arkady Inin discovered in his mailbox a few pieces of newspapers. Many knew about the scenario's hobby - to collect entertaining newspaper notes - and at the event they sent them by mail. In those tenderloin Arkady Yakovlevich discovered two similar ads that a lonely woman is 40 years old want to meet a man without bad habits up to 50 years. In the early 80s, such an announcement was perceived as a bomb: how can a Soviet woman offer himself? But soon the playwright found some more similar ads, then. The idea to write a script was born herself, but at first there was a name: "Lonely a hostel is provided" - such an attorney has always stood in the ads on finding a specialist. And Arkady Yakovlevich went to the hostel of the Moscow Raspanic Plant named after Ordzhonikidze. He met the commandant and workers, listened to their personal stories. And by the beginning of the summer of 1982, the script was ready, and soon the director Samson Samsonov called Inin.
On the main role of the Faith of Golubeva - advanced weaves and part-time Swhahi - Elena Drepeco was tried. But then it turned out that Alin wrote a role under Gundarev, who already played in the film on his scenario "Once twenty years later." Natalia Georgievna passed samples. And it became clear that the role was simply created for her. And for Drapeko chose the comedy image of a ninochka's blonde, which is preparing in the morning, day and evening scrambled eggs, and at night - oslet. Inin, Inin advised Samsonov and Alexander Mikhailov, whose work was once seen in the picture "Risk - noble case". The director talked to the actor and without samples approved him on the main male role of the hostel commandant. Quite unexpected Samson Josephovich invited the role of an envious and unable teacher Tamar Semin, which, after the Sinkopopea "Eternal Call" was perceived exclusively as a positive heroine. The actress gladly agreed to try on a completely different image with which she coped brilliantly. She succeeded so thinly convey the character of Larisa Evgenievna, that some scenes from the script had to be removed in order not to overload the role.

Samson Samsonov, Samson Samsonov, convinced Arkady Inina to invite the hot french Frunzik Mkrtchyan, although hero was Georgian according to the scenario. Frunzik with great enthusiasm took up this role, constantly invented new scenes and replicas, and so well, that the image of Vartan became one of the main in the picture. It is said that it was Mkrtchyan who came up with a phrase: "In the morning, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, in the evening the scrambled eggs, and at night - omelette! Soon I will buck out like chicken! " - And the scene, when his hero brought watermelon to the New Year's table.
Directly to the shooting began in the spring of 1983. The main scenery is a corridor of the hostel, the rooms, the kitchen and the office - built on the "Mosfilm". Some scenes were removed on the construction site of the Moscow Institute of Chemical Physics, the scene in the mail - in one of the post offices in the center of Moscow, the factory is in Ivanovo.
In 1984, the film won several prizes, and Gundarev called the best actress of the year. However, not all perceived the film positively. The newspapers began to appear empty weathered letters that have never seen this in their hostels and believed that the picture humiliates and insults women. But the time passed everything in its place, and the magnificent game of Mikhailov and Gundarere is still punched to tears.
