The local airport is even impressed by us, travelers experienced. There is a playground, a gym, there are special chairs everywhere, where you can make a foot massage (free). This is real - a separate city where you can live at least a week, without needing. But we are waiting for shopping, so quickly changing Thai bats to local dollars, we are in a hurry towards adventure.
In the evening, Singapore looks like films about the distant future.
However, the first walk in the city introduces to the utmost shock. Due to the fact that these most local dollars disappear with some kind of space speed. The price comparison with Phuket is striking to the depths of my wallet. A bottle of water is two dollars (ten times more expensive than we have on the island!). A cup of coffee in the network known to the whole world - seven dollars (two more times more expensive than the same cup in Thai coffee shop with this logo). In Food Hall in one of the shopping complexes Thai "Chicken Rice" - eight dollars (seven times more expensive!).
Arab quarter hid at all next to the skyscrapers, where life flows very measured.
Yes, it seems, Singapore is one of the smallest states in the world - its small sizes compensate for high prices. Therefore, I wandered the first day around the city, counting how much you could buy on this or that amount. What absolutely I had a daughter, who just demanded a disassembled shopping without comparing local prices with Phuket.
So I had to turn off your inner calculator to hell with a volitional solution. And then life was immediately painted with bright colors. Because Singapore is truly beautiful. Early in the morning, when hundreds of slender and taut local residents come to the streets. In hot, noon, when the crowds of Belarusians choosing from their offices on lunch are mixed with a multilingual tourist crowd. Late at night, when even absolutely deserted streets, highlighted from all sides, bright illumination, feel somehow in full security.
There are many unusual homes that can be viewed by clock.
And Singapore is a city of contrasts. But not at all in the sense of which you thought. Simple it is here that you can meet on one shop in the Metro wagon Indianka in Colorful Sari, Malayk in Hijab and China in ultra-screw shorts. They all live with their close communes and travel from Chinatown in Little India and further - to the Arab quarter - very instructive.
And in any of these quarters - a bunch of shopping centers, shops and just small laurels. True, we are with my daughter to find something really unusual, I had to be pretty run throughout Singapore ...
