On Trafalgar Square there was a celebration of the carnival, which more than 50,000 residents of London visited this year. In the afternoon, in the chic Guildhall, the guests of the original Russian event were reheated under the accompaniment of Dmitry Kogan, the singing of Dina Garipova and dances of the State Moscow Music-Hall. The start of the festival coincided with the opening of the year of culture of the Russian Federation in the UK.

The secular event, held by Saturday evening in the hall of the London Town Hall Guildhall, showed that the scale of action is really great. Among the guests of the evening, the three-time Olympic fencing champion Galina Gorokhov, Dmitry Kogan, Dina Garipova, director of the Pushkin House in London Gulian Gallan, Head of the Representative Office of Rossotrudnichesky in the UK Anton Chesnokov, Head of the Committee on the Education of the State Duma Vyacheslav Nikonov.

All invited received as a gift on the tube of spirits with the smell of mimosa. Fragrance spread throughout the hall, as a huge spill bottle gave flow.
The event organizers experienced only for the weather. Last year, Maslenitsa flooded the usual London 10-hour rain, but this time he began drifting only in the evening when Dima Bilan and the group "Lube" came to the scene.

One of the brightest moments of the holiday was the arrival of the paralympics burning on the day before, in the city of Stock-Mandeville, Paralympic Fire.
