Although Bali is an island, surrounded by water from all sides (two ocean is washed at once - Indian and quiet), it's better to forget about swims. No, we, of course, courageously committed a couple of goals to the sea, but it was all limited. In Kuta, this surference paradise, confused not even waves that are cut millions and billions of gravestone in your swimsuit, ears, mouth and nose, and a vile bottom. It seems that you are adding on a global garbage, covered on top of the shame by sea water.

It turns out that Bali residents themselves do not perceive the sea as a place where it is possible (and needed) to swim. They are accustomed to swim in the purest cool water from waterfalls or in lakes. And the sea of Balinese perceive as something frightening, the refuge of demons and evil spirits and mainly use it for various ceremonies. For what are folded along the coast a variety of offering. And these are the impositions, washed into the sea, and cut the bottom with a frozen nitstic layer.
In the eastern part of Bali, in Sanure, where we moved a few days later, the situation is better. And the waves are not knocked down, and the water is transparent, even the white sand is present. However, almost at the very shore in the water there are some nonsense, not even palm trees. Therefore, we swam in the knee in the water, it was afraid to swim into the area of these thickets.

We even got to Amunda, where, as the people are assured, the real paradise reigns for maritime swimming lovers. But it turned out to be impossible to enter the sea without special sneakers for snorkeling. Probably the place is beautiful, but simply soaring in the water, as on any beach of Phuket, is not very comfortable. In short, we decided to postpone the water procedures before returning to Phuket, and discover another Bali.
