Balinsyians assure that rice hit their island directly from the higher forces: according to the legend, a certain young man, being in heaven, returned back with rice stuck in his cracks on heels (romantic, yes?). And now many centuries rice on Bali is considered to be food gods. Even on the state flag of Indonesia, we can see rice bakers.
Rice fields take 20 percent of the island territory.
Therefore, it is not only eating for breakfast, lunch and dinner (as in all Southeast Asia), but used in different other cases. For example, rice squeeze newlyweds - so that their future life is full of happiness and material well-being. And if someone seriously fell in the family, it also comes to the aid - already boiled. Balinsi residents believe that the soul of the patient, having tried the insanely delicious local rice, will not want to evaporate anywhere.
The new century has brought a new application. They say it is in a bag with rice that you need to instantly put your mobile phone if you suddenly flooded the rain. I did not try myself, but here the local exhibitions assure that at least the iPhone is absolutely definitely returning to life after staying in Rice.

Get "Food of the Gods" - the case is incredibly laborious. Every rice, it turns out to be grown separately, and only a couple of months later divided into several beams, which - again manually planted into the ground. Yes, and when rice will grow and ready to collect, no agricultural equipment applies - everything is manually, under the scorching rays of the sun.
Almost twenty percent of Bali territory is given under rice fields. And many of them, especially those located in the mountains, are very picturesque. For example, one of the favorite destinations of tourists - Tegallalanga, amazing rice terraces. For the opportunity to admire local species and take a picture, another need to pay a little, but it is worth it. By the way, rice terraces are included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.
For the sake of the photo against the background of the rice terraces, tourists are ready to post a few thousand rupees. My daughter and I also decided not to lag behind ...
But, in addition to this organization, the numerous gods are followed by local fields (and how otherwise?). Especially for them, small temples were built everywhere - right among the rice beds. In general, the gods and just the spirits live, as believing local people, everywhere. And at various ceremonies, typical Balinese spends about a quarter of his life.
