The singer and composer Denis Maidanov this year meets the spring in a new status: the next day the musician was awarded the title of Honored Artist of Russia. Congratulated Denis and discussed privileges with him for artists, concerts on holidays and a starting post.
- Denis, did you expect the title of deserved artist to you?
- Uncomfortable question. Many friends, comrades, employees of radio and television, representatives of various departments told me that it was time to appropriate "deserved" ... all his time. Now this time has come, it means that my work came to the point when the country noted him and appreciated. It is an honor for me and a huge reward.
- In the USSR, when the "deserved" or "folk" was awarded, a certain benefits appeared at the artist. Now what gives this title?
- To be honest, I was not interested and did not recognize. It seems to me that this is just a status, recognition of some kind of documentary. Previously, I know, Honored received more than the usual artist. People had a monetary rate above the well-deserved. They had some benefits, starting with free travel and ending with a pension. Now - I do not know, it doesn't matter to me.
- Wash the title?
- I think yes. But not pathetic - in the circle of their home and close friends. Of course, note!

- Spring will come, and I will ask my wife and daughters, which they want. I do not like gifts that are not agreed with me. I always ask, and I order what I need. Often, people, not knowing how to please friends and loved ones, hand over things that once presented them. I do not like that. It is better not to give anything, come to visit with a good mood and shake your hand. As for the eighth of March, I have a lot of women: wife, daughter, mother-in-law, mother. I will ask each other, what she wanted.
- Artists for holidays usually work. Have you managed to note these days with your family?
- Believe me, greater pleasure than standing on the Kremlin stage on February 23, do not wish. Therefore, with the artists' friends we celebrate on the stage, and behind the scenes. I know that I will have concerts on March 6 and 7, about the 8th - I still do not know. But I will definitely congratulate women, we will gather our friendly big family.
- Denis, you are in great shape. How to achieve such results?
- I am demanding about myself and do not consider my shape shiny. I can say that after February 26 will begin post - this is a wonderful one and a half months to unload the body. I heard that posts in religion are not accidental. Posts begin at the end of winter - when almost everything is eaten; In the early summer - when nothing has grown yet; At the end of summer - when the harvest has not yet been assembled; Late in the fall - when the cattle was not started yet. And now it is a great opportunity to reset a few kilograms.
- Do you adhere to the post?
- Not. But this year I want to try for the first time. With my profession somehow complicated because of the constant flights, trips and an abnormal schedule to abandon the main food.
