- Valeria, do you remember your first acquaintance with the novel of Leo Tolstoy?
- The impressions were pretty messy. I read quickly, rather for the scene to pass the school exam. And it seems to me that such multilayer complex novels are not a school program.
- Probably preparing for a casting for the musical, did you re-read the novel again? Has your views on Anna Karenina changed with age and changing social status?
- Yes, I certainly reread! And more than once. My social status did not affect my perception of the work. I am separating personal life and work. Especially since our life situations are very different! I got married love. And she is not.
- In September 2015, you first became mom. By this time, it was already known about the plans to put the musical "Anna Karenina". The decision to take part in the casting came instantly or had to weigh all "for" and "against"?
- In 2015, the plans to put the musical on Anna Karenina was known only to producers in Vladimir Tartakovsky and Alexey Bolonin and the directors! I learned about the new project and casting on him, when I had already gone and returned to the theater Operetta play the musical "Count Orlov". Then I was already in good shape and fully armed! (Smiles.)
- Any rehearsal stage is a very difficult time, not only with psychological, but also from a physical point of view. How did you manage to combine everything: work, care about the husband and about a small child?
- I combine all this not only in the rehearsal periods, but also all your conscious life. If there is a desire, the possibility and strength will appear. Of course, mommy, my sister and nanny helping very help. The husband very respects what I do, and always supports, so everything succeeds!

- Your spouse, Stas Ivanov, film director. Did he help you to build a role?
- For me, in principle, the concept of "to build into the role" is very strange. I do not understand what moment you need to do and what it means. Transfer the audience the character of the heroine - to be it on stage! We were looking for a reflection of her character during rehearsals with director Alina Chevik and partners. I become Anna when I put on a suit, a wig. When we make and go to the scene. But not at another moment. Stas suggested me some nuances when I looked at the performance. No more. He really trusts me in what I do on stage. He is a film director. Here the movie is its territory. There he is the owner. There he helps me. Invents with me.
- He shared with you his impressions about the play?
- Stas not really like the novel himself. It is difficult for him. But I liked the production. He is very happy for me. He says he is proud.
- The premiere of the play took place in early October 2016. They say artists do not like premiere performances. This is true?
- I adore premieres. This is a special adrenaline. And the desire to share with the audience the fact that we created so long. Always emotions are such powerful that the performance on such a lift is possible only once - only at the premiere!
- Do you have any signs before going to the scene?
- I always make it myself. And I read prayer before going to the scene.
- Never noted for ourselves, how much do you lose weight for the performance? After all, this is a very large load. Moreover, Anna Karenina dresses are very heavy.
- I lost weight at the premiere unit, while I distributed strength ... And when I understood where the cost can be saved, on the contrary, it became easier. But losing weight, probably, anyway. Per kilogram, I think for sure.
- You are married, you have a son - everything is like Anna Karenina. Who is this woman for you? After all, those who condemn her, as much as those who justify it.
- I repeat that I do not see any single parallel between my family and the Anna family. Who is she for me? She is love itself! There is so much of this feeling in it that neither the Vronsky or Karenin or Anna herself could not cope with him. She is not to blame for what is endowed with this strongest feeling! And happiness that she experienced mutual love! Love for which no moral foundations and principles are important. She is sincere and honest in front of him and his love!
- What do you think: love can everyone justify everything?
- If this is really love, and not passion and not love, then yes!
