At the moment, the university clinic in Basel operated an opening of 20 dead. It became clear why seriously illness arise difficulties with lung ventilation: in many cases, during the disease, oxygen exchange in the lungs simply ceases to function.
"The smaller part of the patients had inflammation of the lungs. Under the microscope, we saw a serious disruption of microcirculation in the lungs. You can give a patient so much oxygen as you want, he is simply not transported further, "said Professor Alexander Tsankov, who led the openings, reports RIA Novosti. This explains why frequent ventilation of the lungs does not give results.
According to the report, all the dead suffered from other diseases. In 46 cases there were also previously transferred lung diseases, 28 had other damage or organ transplants, 16 suffered from dementia, others from cancer, obesity and diabetes. Most often there were hypertension, heart attacks, arteriosclerosis and other heart disease.
A scientist from Hamburg supported this hypothesis: "All surveys had increased blood pressure. Most of the patients also suffered from obesity, there was an explicit overweight. "
Most of the patients were men. More than two thirds of the diseases had damaged coronary vessels, a third suffered from diabetes mellitus.
