Ultra-low-calorie diets: beauty to the detriment of health?

Anonim

In addition to new requirements for writing beauties, new methods of improvement of the appearance arose - first of all, diet for weight loss, which, for the last hundred years, a great set was invented, and most of them belong to the ultra-lowered (SDA).

Such diets became popular in the 20s of the last century, when thin shapes were included in the fashion, and the ladies began to resort to the most desperate measures, up to a complete abandonment of food. Many women burned down their complications to which starvation led, however, did not receive the desired result. To solve the problem, the first SDECs were developed, which should have ensured at least to some extent a reasonable approach to a decrease in body weight.

The most popular SDEK was based on liquid mixtures (for example, OPRIFAST), which were prepared using a blender. In the cocktail it was possible to add the necessary substances (vitamins and trace elements), while not using them in the composition of food. As a result, a product was obtained 100% consisting of essential substances, and at the same time not burdened with calories. These mixtures were made, as a rule, based on milk or soy protein and were distributed in the form of a powder or liquid. And for conscientious adherents such diets no other food existed.

Nowadays, other products can also be included in the SCDD - as a rule, dried ice cream or ready-to-use. There are also SNDs based on solid food - the so-called protein diets. They almost completely consist of low-fat meat or fish. But the main criterion of modern SNDs remained the same: to receive a certain number of kilocalories - up to 800 - a day. The number of food intakes is strictly determined by a diet (depending on calorie cocktails). The distinctive properties of such cocktails is the high protein content (usually more than 84 g) and the minimum fat content (less than 10 g). You can buy such dietary products by a doctor, in the office of the distributor company or via the Internet.

As a rule, a similar diet lasts not more than 16 weeks. Then follows the "output" - a restorative diet. A gradual return to ordinary food can take from 4 weeks or more. During this time, the diet is combined from dietary mixture and ordinary food, while the daily caloric rate is gradually growing.

As a result of SNCs, as a rule, 13-23 kg per month leaves. However, returning to ordinary food after a diet, it is necessary to change the food habits - otherwise the relapse is inevitable: kilograms will return back.

Generally, SNDs have a number of shortcomings:

- do not include normal food (joint meals are excluded, which leads to inconvenience in communication);

- their effectiveness in the long term is very dubious;

- the price of mixtures to comply with the SND is very high;

- Can cause great harm to health due to lack of many necessary trace elements and dietary fibers.

The degree of clinical risk directly depends on whether the diet is suitable for a specific person. The main disadvantage of such diets is exactly what they equal to all what is called "one comb", whereas each organism needs an individual approach. It is necessary to take into account the physical indicators, the state of health, the floor and the degree of lifestyle activity. All these factors affect the metabolism and how many kilocalories a person spends.

Thus, the SCND is not suitable for everyone. For example, for a woman in 152-155 cm, a predominantly sedentary lifestyle, an 800 kcal diet can be useful because it is not too different from the daily needs of the body in calories. In this case, there is a smooth weight loss.

But if the same diet in 800 kcal will try a man with a growing about 182-185 cm, a leading active lifestyle, for him it is fraught with a sharp calorie deficiency and a sharp weight loss. Including the risk of muscle loss, and not fat mass, which in any case is extremely undesirable.

This result is unproductive, moreover - dangerous. Remember that a sharp weight loss is a risk:

  • the emergence of gallbladder diseases;
  • muscle loss;
  • Skin accusations;
  • arrhythmia.

Before starting the SNCD, it is necessary to make sure that the body (especially the heart) is able to withstand a sharp change in weight. This requires a thorough medical examination. Beauty and health are closely interrelated, and it is unlikely that your appearance will benefit from complications accompanying a sharp weight loss. Therefore, when compliance with diet with a dangerous low calorie content - 1000 and less kcal per day - it is necessary to lose weight under the supervision of the doctor.
