"It's no secret that the project is an adaptation of the Korean series of the same name," said Dmitry Palamarchuk, the leadership of Dmitry Palamarchuk. - The task was not easy: to remove the series close to the original and at the same time avoid the "specificity" of the Asian existence in the frame, often for our perception, let's say, grotesque. Plus, I personally confused me that the story of the main character is largely reminded by the history of Oleg Verkhovtshev, my character from the series "Last article of the journalist". But the producer of the studio, Inessa Yuryevna Yurchenko, convinced me that the project would not look like what I had already participated. And she was right. "The defendant" turned out to be an absolutely individual project, oddly enough. In my opinion, he is knocked out of the series typical of such a genre of the fact that it focuses not on the struggle of good and evil, but on the struggle of a person with himself, with his conscience, will and the desire to achieve justice. "
