Thinking, he firmly replied "yes" and began to invent colorful fairy tales for Mary Catherine and her younger brother Jackson. An ice jack, a tooth fairy, a sandy man, a man on the moon and a bugman, added to Santa Claus and Easter bunnies.
"At some point," Joyce recalls, "I started to sketch them, invent the past it, tried to find something about the history of their occurrence. After all, even Superman and Batman has their own mythology. And the characters in which we suggest to believe our children are not. Do I understand this one? ". This was what the cycle "Keepers of childhood" from 13 books, and only 5 of which were launched. And soon it became obvious that these fairy tales could come to life not only on book pages, but also on the big screen. And in 2011, Joyce, together with Guillermo Del Toro (the producer "Cat in Boots" and "Kung Fu Panda-2") began to embody this idea to life.
However, if on paper, the author tells the history of fabulous characters, then in the film the action takes place in our days - 200 years after the events described in the books. "I didn't want people by reading the book, went to watch a movie, and then said:" I liked the book more. " Or, on the contrary, - explains William. "And I didn't want the audience to knew how to unfold the plot." But, honestly, there was also a selfish moment. When the book is shielding, a lot is changing, and I was afraid that I would resist this and thereby interfere with the process. " Russian kids are not very well known to the Russian kids. It's time to get acquainted with them closer.
According to Billy Joyce books, Northerner, more famous as Santa Claus, is a de facto leader - the keeper. But such a man made him on the moon - a wise observer who chose him many centuries ago. "When a person on the moon decided that the children of the Earth should defend a group of special people, the first to whom he found was Nicholas Northerner," says Joyce. "I imagine the northerner with a young Cossack, frightened by sabers, the most fearless warrior and thief in all of Russia, which then changed to become a defender of children."
It was Northerner who discovers that his worst enemy returned to the world, with whom he believed long ago, Krogymen Homeshnik. Directed by Peter Ramzi explains: "Homeshnik is offended by the fact that children love guardians and believe in them, and parents support this faith. As for the budget, parents always say: "Yes, there is nothing there in the dark. It seemed to you. Bougieman does not exist. " He is tired of a dismissive relationship and now wants to be stopped to believe in the keepers. " To do this, he took one of the main Guardian guns - the magical gold sand of a sand man who gives the children magic dreams - and turned it into the black sand of nightmares.
After the visit of Homeshnik, Santa collects the rest of the keepers - the Easter rabbit, a dental fair and a sandy person - at an urgent meeting. All of them are very busy creatures. Easter bunny can create magic portals with the help of which travels around the world, distributing Easter eggs. When it is required, he is a harsh warrior. But he is also a Ranger who cares about the spring, about the hope of small Easter eggs that grow. The authors presented a partially tooth fairy, partially hummingbirds - after all, she is always in the writings, she has a thousand business at the same time, she needs to visit a million places and she says something. Unlike a sandy person who does not say a word at all. He does not need - because he creates and gives good dreams, freeing your imagination and allows you to dream at night.
But to fight with Homeshnik, the keepers team need another assistant - Ice Jack. He knows how to cause frost, wind and snow and most likely loves to create real chaos. As far as he successfully passed his day, he judges the number of abandoned snowballs, frozen windows and closed because of the snowflow of schools. No one believes in him, so he feels like a single and outsider. Can he help the keepers to return the children joy and smiles? ..
