Titres:

Bold scientist Viktor Frankenstein (James McAvoy) and his talented student Igor Straysman (Daniel Radcliffe) obsessed with a noble desire to help humanity gain immortality with the help of their revolutionary discovery. However, Victor went too far in his experiments, and his obsession is terrible consequences. Only Igor can keep a friend on the edge of madness and save it from his own monster created.

- Daniel, how did you work on this picture?

- Well. It was interesting to shoot this film, because since the "Harry Potter", I first worked on the project of such a scope. This is a big studio film, with a good budget. For some time I did not starred in such large-scale paintings, so it was great to try it again. And I also really liked working with James McEevoy and other actors.

- What shooting such a film differ from less budget projects?

- The main difference in the shooting sites and cameras. When much money, you can make a lot more panoramic frames, build stunning scenery. I was always impressed about how artists and designers with a small budget are able to twist: they can redo the most ordinary space in several amazing rooms, which will have different presentations from different angles. But the shooting sites of IV Stewart (artist-director of the painting, three times the nominee for the Oscar premium for films "King says!", "Rejected" and "Korterma". - Approx. Ed.) Literally exploded the brain: each detail was unique in them. . When you go on its platform, it is simply impossible to stay from an enthusiastic exclamation.

- The film "Viktor Frankenstein" is not direct adaptation of the book Mary Shelley, right?

- Yes, this is a combination of material from different sources. James and I called it an adventure film with a discussion about science and technologies, which is relevant to this day. We are now thinking that very advanced and modern, we have free professors with liberal views that approve such things as a study of stem cells, which, in my opinion, is very controversial. The themes of cloning, artificial intelligence and other issues with which we still have to face in the future are rising. Science's development has always been accompanied and will be accompanied by fear to reach a certain point when the process can no longer be controlled. Our film and about it too. He is about two men who think, overlap or not a certain line; What will happen when they do it and how morally it is. Igor Mooraist, but at the same time he is a scientist, and for a long time he believes in progress for the sake of progress.

- But Igor changes his point of view?

- Under the influence of Lorelei, the girls in love with, it changes. She is a very modern woman, but more believes in humanity, and not in science. And it greatly complicates her relationship with Victor, which eventually reflects on my hero. This is again a discussion about science and morality. But we have no didactic, moral film, it is for entertainment, although if he causes someone to think, it would be nice.

- Tell me about your hero of Igor.

- At the very beginning, he is hunchback, working clown in the circus. He grew there and worked all his life. Although his circus owner and other members of the troupe were offended and humiliated, Igor became an excellent surgeon and treated injured artists and animals. Books, medical directories and medicines have become salvation for him in these difficult, if not to say terrible, circumstances. Once, when an accident occurs in the circus, and Loreleia falls, Igor rushes to help and makes it an operation. Victor becomes a witness. So they get acquainted with each other. Victor sees that Igor undervalued, an offended scientist, to which it is bad. Understanding that Igor lives in the world of humiliation, misfortune and intellectual hunger, Victor saves him, for which Igor is very grateful to him. Victor from those who start with the most kind of intentions, but the ego turns it into very dark places, and Igor tries to pull him out from there.

Daniel Radcliffe:

Daniel Radcliffe and James McEva on the set of the film "Viktor Frankenstein". .

- How did you prepare to play humpback?

- If we talk about makeup, he served an hour or two. If about the physical side of the question, then I seriously worked on it, I was looking for a suitable posture. I wanted Igor to look painful, curved, but at the same time that I could show it quite a long time. I remember, once I went in full grima on the set in Manchester, and outside the fences stood random passers-by. I passed by, without even noticing them. And suddenly heard: "Is he? It was a Radcliffe? " And I thought about myself: "So I do everything right." The actor is always nice to hear when he does not know. (Smiles.)

"James McEva said that during filming there were a lot of tricky contact scenes.

- Oh yeah! James almost all his films performs a lot of tricks, and it was great to act in the action scenes with him. Because when you work with someone above the scene, half a day goes to establish contact with this person. The fact is that most people are not confident in themselves, do not want or cannot go to physical contact. With James there were no such problems. In the very first day of filming, he fell me about the pillar, and I thought: "Oh yeah, it seems, we can enjoy." (Laughs.) And it really turned out to be so, we look like it, we both love to postpone in full.

- You did the tricks on the shooting?

- Yes, how much the opportunity was. When I starred in Harry Potter, I trained with the leaders of the tricks in each break. They knew that I was capable, and much let me allow me. But since then no one has any no longer allowed so much, I was told all the time that a doubleller will do for me. Before this movie. I had a scene here, where I jumped from the chair on the table, from the table on the chain, swinging on it, pushed out from the post, unfolded and beat the monster in the chest. All did it myself. It was my one of the most favorite shooting days. (Laughs.)
