Long-term moderate loads can bring more benefits to health than intensive workouts with equal calorie flow rate, RIA Novosti is transmitted. This conclusion came scientists from the Netherlands who conducted an experiment in which 18 people with normal weights aged 19 to 24 were participating. All participants observed three modes. In the first case, volunteers had to sit at 14 o'clock every day and not to perform any exercise. In the second mode, participants were sitting 13 hours a day and one hour was carried out energetic training. In the third case, volunteers sat six hours a day, four hours were walking on foot and stood two hours. After each such day, scientists measured insulin sensitivity and blood lipids levels. Both of these indicators help identify such metabolic disorders as diabetes and obesity. At the same time, the authors found that the number of calories spent in all three cases was approximately the same. The levels of cholesterol and lipids were somewhat better when the participants were intensively trained within an hour. But significant progress in these indicators was noted when volunteers were moderate, but long-term activity (long walked or stood).
