The most difficult was the shooting, which I dreamed of most, - earthquake episodes at the airport. In the suburbs, in Zhukovsky, a huge decoration of the airport, hangars and buildings were built, the existing and written off airplanes were driven, a large massive worked. Removed at night, and it was very difficult to physically - go to shift at 7 pm and work up to 7 in the morning, in the cold, on the penetrating wind, often in the rain or even snow. In such mode, shooting lasted a few weeks.
We could not afford the slightest oversight: the reckless step could lead to irreparable consequences. Failed buildings. Real aircraft burned and burned. And the plane burns quickly, literally for ten to fifteen minutes the duck will be buried, so it was necessary to shoot clearly and quickly. In this sense it was necessary to be very careful, clear, like a car. I will give an example. Night shift. It employs seven or eight cameras, a large massive, exploding aircraft, crumbling buildings. Kolya Lebedev gave an installation: the dialogue of two artists against the background of destruction and madness. We remove, everything seemed to be good, everyone was happy. Except if. He calls me to the monitor, I just watch the scene and say: "Well, it seems that everything is beautiful, exploded, fell." And Kolya answers: "Yes, it is, but why do I need it if not the main thing? The main thing was the reaction of your hero on what he was told. The viewer holds in a voltage what is happening with the hero, and not a rushing building in the back background. We will be cropped.
